1.0 Position Specific Responsibilities and Performance Standards. 职位特殊的责任及执行的标准
Perform concept and feasibility studies, make optical designs, analyze off-tool parts, support testing and assist in certification of lamps.
Create innovative optical concepts and designs in the field of Automotive lighting involving incandescent, HID and LED light sources.
Support feasibility of lamp design by interfacing with CAD, opto-mechanics, opto-electronics, Tooling and CAE functions.
Acquire, understand and interpret FMVSS, ECE and SAE standards and their updates.
Assist in design of manufacturing tools, fixtures and processes that are required to build and service the optical subsystems with the company’s products.
Evaluate new parts, optical testing related equipment and vendors’ related to optical development of lamps.
Review all engineering designs that interact with the optical subsystems of company products.
· Optimize designs to improve beam characteristics and overall optical efficiency.
· Evaluate and characterize secondary optical solutions and customer lighting fixtures using optical instrumentation such as a goniometer, optical comparator, spectrometer etc.
· Generate photometric files for use in lighting design and layout.
· Work closely with Engineering teams to find solutions to next generation products
Work with Manufacturing and Service to diagnose complex issues with the company’s products.
Support Warranty claims involving light output issues.
2.0 Position Specific Requirements 职责明确要求
Education 训导:
B.S. degree in Optics Engineering or Applied Physics
Experience 经验:
7+ yrs. Illumination Optical Design (non-imaging) experience; LED experience highly preferred; Basic concept; photometry and radiometry; Color of light; Terms of photometry; Photometry units comparison; Photometry and radiometry unit conversion; Photometry and radiometry calculations.
ASAP or similar optical design software experience
CAD: CATIA V5, Pro/E or other 3D CAD experience
Certification/Knowledge of test Equipment like Goniometer and Integrated sphere
MATLAB and basic programming experience is a plus
Specific Skills/Training 特别的技能/训练:

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Be well versed in Microsoft office applications
Be team player and self-motivated, and be able to thrive in a start-up environment
Balanced judgment to operate within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
