Responsibilities:
NEW PRODUCT INTRODUCTION and APQP COMPLIANCE – Regional support of development of key suppliers by performing supplier manufacturing process audits and monitoring performance during new product introduction. Management of supplier related quality activities from project conception through to post SOP. Leads suppliers’ element of Launch Readiness Review through standardized use of PRO-04, to demonstrate project status and ensure associated risks are identified and managed. Leads supplier’s APQP training and support. Ensure PPAP compliance submissions meet Southco timelines.
2 SUPPLIER ASSESSMENT
3 Conduct supplier survey to evaluate supplier quality systems, technical and processes capability, and capacity based on Southco’s and the customers’ quality, and delivery requirements. Support facility supplier performance reviews and undertake actions to resolve issues. Is a key contributor to the supplier selection process prior to supplier nomination.
4 SUPPLIER MFG PROCESS DEVELOPMENT
5 Support SDE when issues arise from supplier corrective actions that are determined to need supplier improvement/development.
6 SUPPLIER QUALITY ASSURANCE – Analyze supplier performance in conjunction with Southco QA personnel and at supplier premises. Negotiates with supplier to find acceptable solutions to problems and supports resolution of corrective action requests. Statistical tools to be applied to understand and resolve issues by tackling root cause of problems. Interface with Facility QA personnel to support problem escalation and resolution. To perform supplier quality system and process audits, as well as support supplier performance assessments. Define a system for supplier measurement, evaluation and improvement performance of suppliers. Acts as MRR coordinator in SCM department to dispose all MRR’s related to suppliers.
7 CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT and ISSUE RESOLUTION – Executes issue resolution activiteis and works closely with SDE to achieve supplier improvements. Supports a culture of continuous improvement within the Supply base. Actively engaged in regional “Scorecard” processes challenging facility and regional resources to drive lasting root cause solutions to identify and leads them through to implementation. Engages to Facility and Regional activities. Monitors key suppliers’ performance weekly with standard corrective action formats to drive issue resolution and further identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure completed analysis of suppliers’ quality defects, re-occurring problems and leads corrective/preventive action, including re-audit.
Qulifications:
1.Certified quality engineer ideal.
2.University degree in an engineering or quality-related discipline.
3.3-5 years experience with supplier development or supplier quality assurance. Expert in 1st tier automotive supplier quality requirements (PPAP, APQP, SPC, 8D).
4.Clear understanding of the use of quality improvement methodology such as SPC, Six Sigma, Poka-yoke, lean manufacturing etc.
