Major Areas of Responsibility·
1 Create, maintain, and improve product designs in 3D and 2D CAD (primarily Solid Edge), with focus on plastic injection-molded parts as well as metal stampings, providing product design solutions according to customer requirements.
2 Support the engineering communication activities with the customers for product development and lead component development activities with suppliers.
3 Apply a principled approach to product engineering by creating and utilizing functional tools such as DFMEA, DFMA, FTA, design guidelines, stack-up spreadsheets, GD&T, and other customer specific tools to guide design decisions.
4 Provide technical support for the Product Development Process (PDP). Cooperate with cross-functional teams to insure PDP engineering activities are completed per project schedules.
5 Lead the product validation activities. Create and maintain the DVP&R / PVP&R.
Requirements:
1 Plastic injection molding part design experience is preferred. ·
2 Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks.·
3 Thorough understanding of cause and effect relationships that will provide the skill to identify and solve problems using tools such as FTA, 8-D, 5-why analysis, stack-up etc.
4 Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of automotive industry, procedures/system e.g. statistical analysis, ISO, TS-16949, FMEA, ECO system, PDP, etc.
