PRIMARY PURPOSE:
1. Keep Inventory at a level of completion that will allow Molex to provide exceptional delivery performance but minimize the amount of inventory it needs to carry.
2. Assess the required planning strategy per material and/or Product Engineering series.
3. Assess required safety stock levels to hedge against uncertainty of demand.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Inventory Strategy: Develop and implement an Inventory Entitlement Strategy for each material for the Global Shared Plants. (GSP) Provide critical analysis that balances service level and inventory investment requirements. Lead Root Cause Corrective Action for GSP’s inventory performance. Work directly with GSP and GDP to develop optimized inventory profile for each product family.
2. Product Segmentation: Verify the output from Product Segmentation and communicate the changes to Global Demand Planning (GDP) and Divisional Supply Planning and come to an agreement upon the changes required. Ensure judgement process is executed to yield correct results for the GSP. Provide guidance to the GSP on product segmentation standard work and policies. Ensure product segmentation is reviewed and properly executed each on a quarterly basis.
3. Safety Stock: Develop safety stock strategy by working with GDP and GSP as well as Product Management and GSP leadership. Evaluate required safety stock levels based on Inventory strategy and output from SAP EIS software.
4. Regularly review Transit times in SAP. Ensure Transit times used for safety stock planning are up to date based on the latest reviews by Global Logistics.
5. Manage Slow & Excess Inventory Exposure: Review Slow & Excess for each of the strategy types to verify if the strategy is showing the intended results in service to the customer and minimize Slow & Excess.
6. Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) : Develop and maintain KPI scorecards for the GSP and ensure RCCA is being done by each of the owners of the metrics. Delivery Performance, Slow & Excess %, Safety Stock Acceptance, DSI, Publication and Distribution of Global Inventory KPI’s within the product division/business unit.
7. Conduct critical analysis by using key six sigma tools such as value stream mapping, FEMEA, etc.
8. Provide the organization details regarding the root cause of inventory and/or delivery performance disruptions.
9. Prepare key metrics for the Inventory review section of Supply Review as well as integrated reconciliation.
EDUCATION:
1. Bachelor degree.
2. Preferably educated to degree level in Inventory and/or business management (e.g. APICS)
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Good communication skills, logical and analytical talent is essential.
2. Lean and Six Sigma trained (prefer black belt certification)
3. Excellent Language Skills: Fluency in a minimum of 2 languages (English is mandatory).
4. Good PC skills especially EXCEL advanced.
5. Practical knowledge of SAP MM/PP/SD modules as well as Business Warehouse.
6. Critical thinking and good analytical skills.
